Example 1

Todd Associates implemented an innovative benefit program that combines wellness initiatives with plan design to create very visible incentives for employees to adopt healthy lifestyles. The program offers greater benefits in the form of deductible credits for employees who meet certain health measures.

We married this plan with comprehensive wellness services, such as smoking cessation and dietary and exercise counseling to provide employees the tools necessary to achieve their lifestyle goals. This is the first plan in the region to effectively couple plan design and wellness incentives. The program saved 25% in the first year.

Example 2

Todd Associates assisted a manufacturing client in modifying eligibility rules to eliminate coverage for employed spouses of employees who have coverage available through their own employer. Savings from that initiative was 8%.

Example 3

Todd Associates is currently assisting a multi-plant manufacturing client in addressing emergency room utilization. We uncovered through data analysis that one large plant location had emergency room utilization 64% greater than normative benchmarks. Through plan design and education, we forecast saving 3% of plan costs at that location.
